2NE1 attends MCM Fashion Show, wears Hannah Marshall

German luxury fashion brand, MCM presented its Fall/Winter 2010 collection at Lotte Hotel on November 15, 2010. Celebrities like Eugene (유진), Lee Yoon Ji (이윤지), Lee Yo Won (이요원) and a few others were invited to the show. Girl group, 2NE1 also put up a performance at the event.

The ladies were dressed in custom-made MCM leather outer wears with Hannah Marshall Bullet Dress from its Spring/Summer 2010 collection. Other than the different outer wears, all of them were pretty much wearing the same items. Dress + tights + open-toe wedges.

I was surprised their stylist actually put them in the same outfits! Unusual of them to wear the same outfits altogether. It was also a disappointment. I would at least want to see Park Bom (박봄) showing off her slender legs.
Dear 2NE1's stylist, the Bullet Dress is not the only dress in Hannah Marshall Spring/Summer 2010 collection. I wished you would put the girls in different colorful outfits like when they first debut.
I'm not sure if you feel the same way as I do, but they are getting incredibly boring. They no longer have the "wow factor" they bring when they were rookies. Sorry to burst your bubble (2NE1 stans), but I'm sure there are people who feel the same way as I do.

Do you think it's a change better or for worse? Me thinks, for the worse.

  1. To be blunt, I feel that 2NE1 has become incredibly boring in their fashion choices... and I blame that on their new stylists.

While their first stylists sometimes dressed the girls in unflattering clothes for their figures, I felt that the clothes themselves were exciting. I especially liked how each girl was dressed differently; they matched in concept but weren't twins of each other.

These new stylists are almost the exact opposite. The girls seem to be wearing better fitting clothes that show off their assets (and hide their flaws), but their individual personalities don't show through anymore. In the "Go Away" performances, they wore similar trenches to each other, and the "Can't Nobody" outfits have all been identical.

    It's truly a disappointment.

  2. ^^ I understand what you mean but I like it to be honest... After all they're a girls band, and I feel that showing each "personnalities" through clothes, kinda clashes.... I don't even felt like they were showing their personnalities before... I like having different clothes in the MV, but sometimes in the live performances, I like something similar, it creates some kind of harmony with the choregraphy and also help us distinguish them from the back-up dancers....

Now I still voted boring hahaha.... Mostly because I feel that 2NE1 always choose the same brands... Too much Jeremy Scott & Ricky Owens.... Also when I felt that they were kinda leader in fashion now I caught them wearing stuff that has been worn before, in KOREA!! I don't want to blame their new stylists cause I cannot really pinpoint when this happened.

  3. i know what you mean. their style bores me a little now. their style is little muted? and more feminine. i think there's still a twist to their fashion choice that makes them 2ne1. they wear stuff others wouldn't wear, but the "wow" factor isn't present anymore. i now think of "pretty" and "interesting". when they had their old stylists i thought "over the top", "colorful & crazy", "dolls & legos as rings what the heck??" (in a good way), and "lots of prints/patterns?".

I always looked forward to what unique and crazy outfit i'd see on them next. their outfits for their recent performances were pretty cool such as their mcm leather jackets posted above, the "can't nobody" rope looking outfit, and the jeremy scott skull tracksuit. the trenches for "go away" were pretty, but where's their "bam! in your face!" kinda style? i guess they wanted to change it up a bit to look more mature?

as cool as they were, their stylists just put them in matching outfits with slightly different details for each member. does the slight difference in detail express their individual personalities? maybe. maybe not.

  5. when i first saw the photo, i loved the jackets, they seem interesting but was also disappointed with the identical outfit underneath

the girls once said, that they sometimes prefer this more feminin style, but i also prefered their old stylists.

"After all they're a girls band, and I feel that showing each "personnalities" through clothes, kinda clashes" - why would that clash? that's what i loved about them, they're a girl band AND show their personality

recently, their also wearing the same stage outfits and it gets kinda boring. look at the WG, SNSD, Kara, etc ... i though it was always interesting that they didn't wear their clothes like a "uniform" but like a special piece

  6. I think the Hannah Marshall Bullet Dress is very stunning and edgy and it gives the girls a nice uniformity, with a touch of colour on top with the jackets. Fashion is meant to be fun and enjoyable and I think they look great!

  9. Yes they were more different and more innovative before but in my opinion they were seldom well dressed. More often than not it was a whole mess of colors and mismatched items. Now it is less unconventional but as one of the commenter said before, more feminine.
I still don't consider them as good style icons though, but I find myself more appreciative of their choices.
I do hope that they are still defining their fashion choices and I'm looking forward to the point where they will have matured enough to get distinct fashion styles (each member).
