LFW : Antonio Berardi Fall 2010

Coming closely after Mary Katrantzou, Antonio Berardi is my second favorite show for London Fashion Week. Away from the abstract prints and edgy clothes, Antonio Berardi is all about being mature, chic and luxe. Think Victoria Beckham, Dita von Teese, Renee Zellweger..

Like Victoria Beckham's hourglass shapes, amazing silhouette. And again, I tagged my favorite look. You ask why?.. I just felt the dress is beautiful and although there might be a boobs-showing, the dress is elegant and a little bit naughty. Very sexy.

Besides having dress with sheer/mesh details - full boobs on display -, I love every single dress above. They are so elegant, classic and simply beautiful. As well as the suit dresses. If you're thinking of a great date, just get a set of Agent Provocateur lingerie underneath the suit dresses and you're ready to go!

And lastly, the furs in the collection. Absolutely adore the collection.
Very feminine.. and I guess I shall stop going any further. I am full of praise for the collection.

Style.com's Review by Sarah Mower :
Antonio Berardi is on the side of women rather than girls. He's known for cutting a shapely dress; he's great at curvaceous paneling and emphasizing a bosom; and he uses excellent fabrics. For Fall, he worked a Mad Men-ish knee-length hourglass silhouette, with a strong salute toward the Saint Laurent seventies: sheer tops, fur chubbies, and all.

Those choices meant the bulk of Berardi's collection didn't seem totally up to speed with fashion's headlong dash to reinvent itself. Invoking YSL is one of the most overworked clichés in the book, and hobbling models with un-walkable stilettos on a slippery floor reduced the erotic intentions of those passages to near fiasco. It was the ones that got away—the pieces that somehow fell outside the show's themes—that seemed more cogent to the season's developing ideas. A jacket-coat-dress hybrid tailored in gray menswear fabric and the sinuous long red-velvet dresses, one with a deep cowl back revealing sparkle embroidery on nude, were standouts.

Adorable Park Shin Hye in NYLON

Besides appearing in an editorial in ELLE, actress Park Shin Hye (박신혜) also appears in the March's issue of NYLON. Switching up her image to a more playful character, Park Shin Hye loses her hair extensions in ELLE. I love how she is just like Yoon Eun Hye, very versatile. Oh Yoon Ah wears Prada in God of Study

Although God of Study finished airing about a week ago, I just caught episode 9 (I can't understand Korean thus the wait for subs.)! Spotted, Director Jang Ma Ri or Oh Yoon Ah (오윤하) wearing Prada Resort 2010 dress. I love how she wore it with the dark blue sweater, very chic! Oh Yoon Ah acts as a school director in God of Study and she's known to have a fabulous closet wearing items from Marc Jacobs, Siwy Denim and many others.

I hardly update on drama despite a lot of fashion-sightings in dramas due to my inability to understand Korean Language. But if you would like me to update on any particular drama/outfit, I'll try my best to find it! Just need a screencap of the outfit (preferably in HQ) and formspring it to me! For those who have requested for items and did not get a reply, I apologize that I am not able to give you an answer just yet.

If you're interested in watching the drama but like me, you don't understand the language head to Haru2subs.com for subtitles! Enjoy watching the drama!

Uee goes sporty for Vogue

Girl group After School's Uee models for Vogue Korea's March issue. Appearing in a sporty-chic look, she rocks outfits from Burberry Prorsum, Miu Miu, 7 for all Mankind, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton and many other big brand names. I'm not such a huge fan of this shoot, just felt that there's no "high-fashion" element since its for Vogue. But she looks good, I loved how they styled the Burberry Prorsum trench (which Lee Na Young wore before) and the belts around her waist.

Yoon Eun Hye models in pink for Vogue Girl

A part of Vogue Girl's Pink Wing Campaign along with f(x) as well as many other celebrities, actress Yoon Eun Hye (윤은혜)is featured in Vogue Girl's March issue. Looking absolutely adorable in ribbon hair bands as well as cute dresses just like a doll. I love how versatile she is as an actress and a model, she can take on so many characters and work it. She can go Vogue material and also Vogue Girl material. That's probably why I always love to see her in editorials.

Yoon Eun Hye also held a fanmeet in support of the campaign, check out her photos here.

LFW : Mary Katrantzou Fall 2010

London Fashion Week was a mad rush! Having switched by time to -8 hours is really tough! To keep up with fashion week and catch live streams in the wee hours of the morning while everyone is asleep. However I really enjoyed my week as much exhausting as it is.

Mary Katrantzou currently tops my London shows favorites. I am sooooo in love with the collection. Every. single. dress is fabulous! Very very regal (it'll be good if the collection was released 2 years ago so as to help my art work in school)!

Not only consisting of prints but also ruffles in the collection (did not feature). Extremely beautiful collection. Every dress is like a painting, an art. Those platform boots with gold buttons are lust-worthy.

And as you can see, I've tagged my favorite look above. Which is the one in turquoise, very regal. Its like from a painting in the museum - prints at its best. In love with the last look (far right), military vibe to it with those badges and the red stripes.

Its a pity detailed images aren't out yet. I would love to see them close up. This is such an amazing collection! I love every single dress, so much detail. Each dress speaks for itself. I've always been a fan of Mary Katrantzou's prints and this definitely did not let me down. I am so impressed.

Dazed Digital also got to ask Mary Katrantzou some questions :

Dazed Digital: What were your inspirations?
Mary Katrantzou: It was 18th century portraiture and all the men and women in there. I was looking at artists like Fragonard and Madame de Pompadour and people like that. It was a fragmentation of what they used to wear and bring them onto a 21st century woman.

DD: How have your prints evolved for this season?
Mary Katrantzou: It's very different in its fabrication as it's more layered and it's not so much one graphic bold print on a single silhouette. It had to feel a little more free in the lines and that's why we integrated the frills and the lace and everything that was going on in there. Most importantly, it wasn't a symmetrical print and it was a lot more layered; some were repeats, some were motifs. In order to make it more interesting, there was a lot of assemblage of different influences.

DD: Can you tell us a little bit about the shapes?
Mary Katrantzou: For me, it was a collection of a signature style that was very austere, concentrating on the shift dress. This season, the theme gave me more freedom to play with fabrics. It's nice to make the clothes have some fantasy.

DD: Tell us about the names you give the dresses?!
Mary Katrantzou: They're a little ridiculous but we use them in the studio! Dante, Doma, Fireding, Ciderbing, Rubberdum, Gilda, Gilda's Mother…

Check out this video as models struts down the runway :

Read Style.com's Review by Sarah Mower :
Portraits of Madame de Pompadour, the paintings of Fragonard and Nattier—what could the frills and curlicues of the rococo have to do with the digital print revolution? "Yes, it's excessive, and decorative, and I know everyone else is talking about minimalism," shrugged Mary Katrantzou, backstage after her show. "But I knew I needed to go a little outside the stuff I've been doing. And I do like a challenge."

She was referring to the need to feel her way into new silhouettes as well as to find some way of breaking out of the kaleidoscopic swirls and sharp-angled geometric explosions that have characterized the sensational prints coming out of London in the last two or three years. Katrantzou, a print and textile expert, has been at the forefront of inventing a new visual language that has stunned fashion with its novelty—a language Alexander McQueen was also using fluently in his last two shows. Her problem, rightly anticipated, is that novelty quickly becomes cliché—and a cheap T-shirt dress on a market stall. To keep things interesting, Katrantzou knows she has to do something more sophisticated than a placement print on a shift dress.

This time, she merged photographic images of lace, jewels, ormolu, medals, and sashes in ways that vaguely recalled Gianni Versace's more-is-more scarf prints, and she sculpted some of them into shapes that echoed parts of military jackets. Printed vest-jackets, a couple of Napoleonic coats, and a frothy frill-front shirt added bandwidth to her offer, too. Still, the effects, though interesting, seemed slightly stiff and forced until Katrantzou let herself go at the end, sending out a couple of dresses that combined asymmetric bodices, lace patched against print, glints of metallic, and cascades of half-trains trailing off at the side. Somehow, they succeeded in hitting a note of oddness that seemed new.

Zhou Xun covers L'officiel China March

Chinese film actress, Zhou Xun (周迅) appears in L'Officiel China March. Looking absolutely lovely in mini dresses! The backdrop looks like she's posing at Paris' Eiffel Tower but I could be wrong. If you notice, she wore those lust-worthy Chloe Sevigny x Opening Ceremony Multi Buckle Wedge Booties. I've always thought those boots would make a minidress (or in her case Versace dress) heavy but Zhou Xu tells us you can wear them and still look fabulous! I was actually hoping for a softer look in the editorial like her cover but she looks really good "tough".

Sulli and Victoria glams up Vogue Girl in pink!

Sulli and Victoria of girl group f(x) comes together to shoot for Vogue Girl's March Issue in support of Vogue Girl's Pink Wing Campaign. Both of them dressed up in pink, even Sulli had a car on set pimp in pink! Check out the adorable Sulli and the mature Victoria in Vogue Girl :

H&M Flagship Store Opening attracts celebrities

With over 2000 stores worldwide in 35 countries, H&M (Hennes & Mauritz Ltd.) finally opens its first flagship store in Seoul, South Korea (Myung Dong).

Celebrities like Cha Ye Ryun (차예련), Min Hyo Rin (정은란), Bada, Heo Yi Jae (허이재), Hong Su Ah (홍수아), Ji Jin Hee (지진희), Park Han Byul (박한별), Jung Gyu Woon (정겨운), Kim Na Young (김나영), Jung Hye Young (정혜영) and Jinusean as well as model Han Hye Jin attended the opening of the flagship store. Check out the red carpet photos :

In my honest opinion, most of them looked trashy. My favorites are Cha Ye Ryun, Park Han Byul and Kim Na Young. I am in love with Park Han Byul's extremely high wedge in hot pink, almost like Jason Wu's.

H&M is set to open to the public tomorrow on February 27, 2010 at 12pm. H&M is giving the first 99 customer a 1 million won (About 10USD) gift card as well as opporunities for lucky draw.

Poor me, I'm still waiting for H&M to open in my country. Despite rumors, I don't think its gonna happen in the near future.. ㅠ_ㅠ

Park Shin Hye for ELLE

Shredding away her tom-boy image in drama "You're Beautiful", Actress Park Shin Hye (박신혜) models for ELLE Korea's March Issue. Looking absolutely lovely, nothing like Go Mi Nam. Wearing items from Acne, Jainsong, Forever21 and many more.. I love the styling, especially the second photo (far left), very Chanel-ish as well as the outerwear with 2 reindeers. Check out the pictorial :
