Christmas comes early for Margiela fans

In case you, like us, were in a turkey coma on Friday, you missed this epic news: One hundred exclusive pieces of Martin Margiela are going on sale on today.

There are pieces ranging from 2005 to 2009, including a wig jacket (which, by the way, took over fifty hours to make), a shoulder-padded bandage jacket with Carine’s name all over it and a particularly festive magenta tinsel coat.

It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to get your hands on some of Margiela’s most legendary work, but since you’re buying museum quality pieces, you’ll have to pay museum prices. The least expensive piece the Telegraph mentions is a $5,000 jacket while the wig jacket is almost $10,000.

So if you’ve been saving for something special (saving more than pennies), this is it.
